When does a company start to feel like a real company?


Today, I met up with a friend of mine for happy hour and the first thing he said to me (jokingly) was, “When does a company start to feel like a real company?  When things aren’t pieced together and people aren’t scrambling.”

This friend of mine is an ex CTO of one of the largest gaming companies in the world, and presently the CTO for a well funded startup.

Which led me to think that maybe the scrambling never ends.  Whatever he described is exactly where we’re at now, and we’re only a 4 person, self funded company.  They’re a 15 person company, well funded startup; from the outside you’d think they’ve got their sh*t together.
